This bandana features the flower commonly known as a 'Coneflower'. It grows wild and in gardens all over Washington DC. I didn't know until I started researching that this is Echinacea. The same Echinacea that comes in cough drops and supplements. I love discovering things like this that help me feel connected to my surroundings and history.

This is the first in an ongoing series of bandanas and cards that feature local edible and medicinal plants. In particular, I'm interested in exploring plants that were used in traditional 'roots' medicine and how they became part of the culture.

Comes packaged with a paper bellyband and in a cellophane sleeve. The sleeve is biodegradable.
